Using Pressure To Motivate & Reinforce Behavior

If I create pressure for the puppy (the pressure in the beginning is the fact that he has to comply with the directive) ...Then have puppy work through pressure successfully ... then allow pressure to escape... and repeat. This becomes a self full filling way of building duration in behavior and creates a hardwired behavior. No food or other reinforcer needed. The desire to achieve the escape becomes the motivator and the reinforcer is the escape. This gives us a cycle we can use to extend the training sessions with. The escape is defined here as: relief from the pressure of having to perform the behavior or comply. Understanding this allows us to begin to control without controlling.
