Problem Solved Teaching How To Learn

One of the things that will automatically give our dogs an instant boost in ability is to understand how to get to the payout, the reinforcer whatever that might be. A puppy that has had the opportunity to problem solve and learn how to learn will always have an advantage over another that has not had similar experiences. I have and , do now, have litter mates where some received a lot of attention and others not so much. It is quite obvious to anyone which ones those are at 4-5 months of age.

Fortunately the dogs can learn this at any age and in any situation. The dog has to learn how to navigate in the human world in the end. The dog being able to learn to do that through operant and classical conditioning is key to the dog understanding how to work in the human world. I will be adding blog posts with ways we can teach our dogs to be ahead of the curve.
